Meta's new Seller app writes your listing from a photo. US only, for now.
Meta launched an app called Seller on July 24. You take a photo and it writes the title, the description, the category, and even suggests a price. It is iPhone and United States only.
On July 24, Meta launched a separate app just for people who sell on Facebook Marketplace. It is called Seller. The main idea is simple. You upload a photo of the thing you are selling, and the app writes the listing for you: the title, the description, the category, and a suggested price.
It does a few other things a regular seller would recognise. You can post many items at once instead of one by one. Your messages get sorted by item, so buyers asking about the same thing land in one place. And it shows you plain numbers per listing: views, clicks, how many people messaged you, and what actually sold. Meta says it connects to the Marketplace account you already have, so your old listings, messages, and selling history carry over.
For scale, Meta says 430 million items are listed on Marketplace every month around the world.
Why it matters
Writing a listing is the boring part of selling online. You take the photo, then you have to think of a title, describe the item, guess a price, and answer the same three questions from every buyer. That work is why a lot of people post one item and never bother with the second. Handing the writing to the phone lowers the effort of selling from a chore to a few taps, and that matters most to the small, part-time seller, not the big shop.
The catch to watch
You cannot use it here yet. Meta says Seller is on the App Store for users in the United States who are 18 and older. That means iPhone only, that country only. Meta did not say when it reaches the Philippines, or if it will.
The other thing to watch is the price suggestion. A machine guessing what your item is worth is guessing from other listings, not from your item, your city, or how badly you need to sell today. Treat it as a starting number, not the right one. Same with the description it writes for you: read it before you post, because if it gets a detail wrong about your own item, that is still your listing and your buyer.
